Pregnancy Planning

Pregnancy planning is a lot more than deciding to stop using a birth control method.  In fact, you need to see us before you stop using birth control so we can talk about what you can do before you become pregnant.

The first 8 weeks of pregnancy are extremely important for your baby’s health as most of your baby’s major organs and body systems have begun to form.  That’s why your health and nutrition before you become pregnant are so important to help you have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

When we meet we’ll talk about your medical and family history, lifestyle, diet, weight, medicines and herbal supplements you take and any past pregnancies. It’s also a time for you to ask us questions and share concerns you may have. Then together we can talk about what steps you can begin taking now and the importance of prenatal care as soon as you think you might be pregnant.
